The Principle of the Highest Kingdom

The rules that were laid out by the Holy Spirit are guides and principles that govern us so we might know righteous behavior. Rules are that which cause things to work properly. Rules are the guidelines to any achievement.

An athlete who plans to stay healthy and achieve his goal follows rules that have been set or created by the knowledge of those who have achieved the same goal before him. We all have some idea of the rules set for a long distance runner or gymnast. I’ve never heard of people getting together to encourage trainers to omit the rules to see if they might achieve their goal without the rules. Nor have I heard of a trainer trying to do his job without those same rules. Neither should we omit the Ten Commandments which were designed to bring us into full maturity.

Our Creator set rules (principles) into action at our creation that points us toward spiritual maturity. These rules teach us how to have dominion over the works of His hands.

Some people teach that mankind can change Yahweh’s rules to mean whatever they wish them to be or even omit them. But we cannot see into the Kingdom of Heaven nor reap the benefits if we do not adhere to His rules.

The principles of Yahweh’s Kingdom of Righteousness are given in Exodus twenty. They cover all we need to know to come into full maturity; into the image of the Father. They were set by the Master Trainer and we can trust that to adhere to them will prepare us to run the race and be a winner in the Kingdom of the Most High God.

I am amazed at the Kingdom ministers (instructors) who preach that rules are unnecessary, instructing their congregation to just let love flow from them. That’s good and true, but we have to have a rule that reveals the attributes of Love. If our goal is to let Love flow from us, then we must learn the principle of Love.

The guidelines to flow in love were not first introduced in Exodus twenty, but they were given to the people there in a stronger and more obvious way than before. Even Cain knew that killing his brother was unacceptable, for he hid his crime. I’m persuaded that there wasn’t one rule written in stone by the finger of Yahweh that the people didn’t already know about; they just were not attracted to or concerned with the principle of Love.

We cannot effectively preach of Love without describing its actions, effects, or principles. I listened to eight hours of so-called-kingdom ministry on cassette tapes where the minister never mentioned the attributes of love, yet his message was on believers flowing in love.

We are acquainted with the human’s ability to use the word “love” loosely. I have heard many people say that they love their spouse while abusing them mentally and physically. If ministers set the same example, who are they deceiving? If they get up behind the pulpit and do not produce the principles of Love, or refuse to describe the rules of Love and its effect, or refuse to come against the lower nature of man, how then can anyone be expected to know the principles of Love? How then can the abusive spouse know that there is a greater love?

We should encourage people to use the principle of Love to overcome their beastly nature. We should encourage them to put on the mind of Christ and be perfect (mature), even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matt. 5:48).

Ministers need to explain the principles of the Kingdom of Righteousness and point out cause and effect so that their listeners might see a choice and receive the word of Truth. But to accuse the whole body in a pictorial accusation of immaturity is to destroy the influence of the Kingdom ministry. It causes the Savior to appear lacking in power. In reality, the principles (laws) of the Kingdom of Yahweh set people free from the bondage of sin.

Yahweh doesn’t just flow through us, He is spirit and He makes our spirit alive. We don’t become Him, we become like Him. We do have to deal with the sin issue, unlike what some are teaching. We do have to recognize where we fall short of truth, life, and love. We do have to seek truth, judge righteously, declare the truth, walk in all that we see, and produce fruit of the Holy Spirit to function in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father.

The followers of Yahweh were instructed to display the principles of His kingdom in their homes and talk of them as they walked with their children: “And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates,” Deut. 6:6-9.

If we are Kingdom children, Yahweh’s laws should not be offensive for they are a description of him. They are guidelines that we can compare ourselves to. His laws are to help us reach the goal that we were created to achieve.  We are counted least in the kingdom if we do not teach the laws (rules) of Yahweh. “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven,” Matt. 5:17-19.

Christ said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill [execute, satisfy]. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled [to cause to be].

Paul warns us, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath [desire] of Yahweh upon the children of disobedience. Be not therefore partakers with them.  For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he says, Awake thou that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is,” Ephesians 5:6-17.

I was given a vision several years back that helped me realize the importance of obedience to the voice of the Spirit.  In my vision, I was walking down a very dark country road. My five children were with me and the night was black except for the light that was radiating from my own body. I was not a very bright light, but the light illuminating from me did shine a few feet ahead of me. All my children were lined up behind me following my every step and instructions, for they did not have light within themselves. I could see snakes in the road and I led my children around them. They were worried, but were content to obey when I told them to step where I stepped.

I’ve matured since that time and am persuaded that the light within me is greater. Now, each of my children is going down a similar road with their own children, depending upon the light of Yahweh within them. The light of Truth illuminates from within us and makes us guides to those in darkness. But we must realize, light cannot produce darkness, nor can darkness produce light, so we do have to know the difference.

If any one of us is veering away from the truth in our message, Yahweh does not turn it into light just because He loves us. False information or information withheld is sometimes fatal for those who are depending upon us to lead the way.

There was a vision that was given to my sister, Beverley Holzkamper, which takes this idea a little further. In her vision, she was in a tunnel of darkness. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness she could see that there were other people with her. Soon she could see little pieces of light on the ground and she started eating them. As she ate them she would walk toward another little light and eat it. Finally, she could see light at the end of the tunnel and she walked her way out of the darkness. After walking into the light, she discovered she had become the light she had eaten.

If those of us who desire to function in the Kingdom of Yahweh spend time feeding from the entertainment of the world, we may be surprised how much of an appetite we develop for it and how much influence it will have on us. It will filter into our terminologies and convictions.

We are all influenced by what goes into our minds, so we need to guard them.  Our minds can become hardened so that the Spirit of Truth cannot penetrate it. If we are not careful, we will adopt the principles of the world and declare them to be the principles of the Kingdom of the Most High. We will have become no different than those in darkness.

On the other hand, if we adhere to the principles of Yahweh, and we are confident that truth and righteousness does influence us we will reflect truth unto all who come in contact with us.

“You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill,” Matt. 5:13-14.

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another,” Rom 12:9-10.

“Let the peace of Yahweh rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord,” Col. 3:15-16.
