Are We Sons or Are We Slaves?
If we do not hold a true image of our relationship with the Father, it is difficult to understand why we experience our trials and testing or to expect life to turn out well. We shoulder our cross, do our best to make wise decisions, and hope for the best. We are always compelled to accept the status quo. We look around and ask ourselves, “Why should we not adjust our thinking to accept life as it comes, everyone else does?”
To identify ourselves as birth-children of the Divine Creator is unthinkable to those who hold their earthy image. We receive this vision after we have experienced our heavenly birth.
We were created for the glory and pleasure of our Lord and Savior. I am convinced that Yahweh’s effort was not to create a world full of defective and despicable creatures that were unfit to claim the least connection with him. We are not contemptible in his eyes and should never be in our own. If we do not recognize ourselves as Yahweh’s workmanship and created in his image, we cannot have confidence and boldness to approach him with positive faith. An earthy image cannot produce an active heavenly faith—“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Yahweh must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him,” Hebrews 11:6.
If we hold ourselves aloft from our Creator in our subconscious mind, we will assume the responsibility for our existence and also for our development. This would be evident that we have not accepted Yahweh as our responsible Creator nor have we established a connection to him.
Yahweh is our only source of love and goodness, and to think ourselves independent of him is to rob ourselves of the ability to possess his good nature. We then, in time, become the despicable person we visualized ourselves to be. In reality, we are exalting ourselves. Most people who shy away from a genuine connection to the Creator consider it as an act of humbleness—the flesh has many avenues of devious deceptions.
It is the Father’s design and will to have full fellowship with his creation. He knows where we are, for there are no hiding places from him. Our Lord said, “… seek ye the Kingdom of Yahweh; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom,” Luke 12:31-32. It is impossible for the natural mind to hold this concept.
We are the Spirit-begotten children of Yahweh; we are redeemed by the blood of the Deity. How can we imagine we are worthless nobodies?
1 Corinthians 3:15-16 tells us, “If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of Yahweh, and that the Spirit of Yahweh dwells in you?”
1 Peter 2:7-10:“Unto you therefore which believe he (Christ) is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of Yahweh: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy,” 1 Peter 2:7-10.
