Before we begin, I will clarify the details of the four horses mentioned in this chapter:
Each of the first four seals opened revealed a horse and its rider. The horse, the rider, what the rider carried, and his mission all must be viewed together as one unit in order to understand the full meaning of the opening of the seal. The rider was not described; only the color of his horse, what he carried in his hand, and what he wore on his head. With each description John was told their mission.
The colors of the horses:
In the Old Testament, when a color is mentioned in describing an object, that color symbolized something as well as the object itself. Usually, when Yahweh told his people to build or make something sacred, he did not leave the color choices to their discretion. Whatever a color meant in the Old Testament, it stands to reason that it would mean the same in the New Testament.
- White represents purity, or righteousness. The SAVIOR was seen dressed in white when he was transfigured on the mount (Mark 9:2-3), the angels before the tomb of the SAVIOR were dressed in white (John 20:12), and John saw the SAVIOR dressed in white in his vision that was to be given to the seven churches. In Isaiah 1:16-18, we find that to be washed and made clean from sin was to be white as snow. White is still a symbol of purity today.
Isa. 1:16-18, Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, said Yahweh: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
- Red represents Yahweh’s redeeming power because it was used in connection with sin. Mankind had a need to be born from above. If they understood and accepted the sacrifice of the SAVIOR’s life as redemption for their sins, they could then be born of the Holy Spirit.
Isa. 1:18, Come now, and let us reason together, said Yahweh: though your sins be as scarlet [red], they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
1 Pet. 1:18-19, Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold [idols], from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of the Anointed, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
- Black (night) represents lack of truth or carnality (John 11:10).
1Thes. 5:4-10, But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For Yahweh has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord the Anointed SAVIOR, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
- Green represents prosperity or life (Ps. 23:1-2).
Jer. 17:7-8, Blessed is the man that trusts in Yahweh, and whose hope Yahweh is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out his (her) roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but his (her) leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Four of the seven Spirits of Yahweh are mentioned in verse 13 of the previous chapter. The first four Spirits are identified by the colors of the four horses when the Lamb opens the first four seals.
The Lamb opens the first seal:
6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, the [first]
one of the four Living Creatures saying, Come “ and see”. [There is a difference in “come and see” and “come.” Come is an invitation to be a part of something, whereas, “come and see” is only an invitation to view something.]
When a roll (the scroll) was sealed, it was wrapped round with flaxen thread or string then a lump of clay was attached to it and impressed with a seal. The seal had to be broken by an authorized person before the roll could be read. In John’s vision, the information in the scroll was “sealed,” indicating that its writings were a mystery. The Lamb was the only one worthy to break the seal.
The Lion, the first Living Creature, said, “Come.” The Lion is the symbol of the linage of the SAVIOR, he was qualified to be the first to say “Come.” From the voice of the Lion, we see the beginning of the life of the SAVIOR as his Father dwelt in him, tabernacling flesh, that he might bring mankind into the Kingdom of Righteousness.
The noise of thunder represents Yahweh’s voice of judgment. When the SAVIOR, the light of Truth, came, the sound of it demanded their attention and acknowledgment.
1 Sam. 2:10, The adversaries of Yahweh shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: Yahweh shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his Anointed.
Ps. 104:7, At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hasted away.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer [to subdue].
This White Horse represents the honor and purity of the SAVIOR and his ability to purify the Church—he enabled them to put on righteousness. The White Horse and its rider went forth conquering small battles to triumph over the enemy. The bow and the horse were the means by which the mission was accomplished. The SAVIOR’s mission was to bring righteousness to humanity; therefore, whatever was going to take place, righteousness was going to be used to accomplish it.
The bow is a symbol of strength. Here we see righteousness being challenged as the SAVIOR made war against unrighteousness.
Gen. 49:23-24, The archers have sorely grieved Joseph, and shot at him, and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel)….
The SAVIOR’s battle required tearing down spiritual strong holds in the minds of his followers. This battle could only be won through righteousness and by the Word of Truth.
The crown given to the rider was a wreath that symbolized victory rather than a crown of royalty; thereby, Yahweh revealed the end results at the beginning of the conquest. The rider wore the victor’s wreath as he went out. The crown of victory was generally given at the end of the battle to show the people who the winner was, but Yahweh had the upper hand and he revealed to his people that their battles were sure to be won before the battle began. Yahweh was their Righteousness and their reigning Force. The crown of victory was shown on the rider to prove that Truth and Righteousness would forever be victorious in any battle.
The White Horse and the rider with his bow symbolize the Spirit of Righteousness going forth from the throne room and being victorious in overpowering unrighteousness. The SAVIOR, symbolized by the White Horse, was the instrument Yahweh used to show forth his righteousness to humanity. No wonder he was connected with the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the first Living Creature, to say, “Come”.
John 14:10-11, Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
1st the SAVIOR came as the White Horse with the power to conquer unrighteousness; he was the promised SAVIOR establishing victory.
The Red Horse represents the SAVIOR’s blessings, grace and forgiveness:
The Lamb opens the second seal:
6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second Living Creature say, Come
and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
Remember, the bullock represents the sacrificed life of the SAVIOR, not just his crucifixion, but his freewill offering of himself in the earth. It was the Bullock (the calf), the second Living Creature that said, “Come.”
The Savior, as the Red Horse, brought forth the Word of Truth, which was the believers’ way to the redeeming power of the blood—the Life of Yahweh. Life is in the blood and as we receive the SAVIOR’s Life (his blood, his spiritual genetics) we become born from above. See message “The SAVIOR’s Bloodline” for more information on the power in the blood.
2 Cor. 5:19-21, To wit, that Yahweh was in the Anointed, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for the Anointed, as though Yahweh did beseech you by us: we pray you in the Christ’s stead, be you reconciled to Yahweh. For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of Yahweh in him.
Eph. 2:12-13, That at that time you were without the Anointed, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenant of promise, having no hope, and without Yahweh in the world: But now in the Anointed SAVIOR you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of the Anointed.
The great Sword was a weapon that symbolized the Anointed Word that was made manifest through the SAVIOR as a man. The Anointing, working in the body of Christ, was their only hope of them being that glorious manifestation of Yahweh’s principles in the earth.
Heb. 4:12-13, For the word of Yahweh is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
This Sword took peace from the earth by forcing the churches out of their comfort zones. It cut away at their carnal concepts causing guilt and condemnation. It forced them to come up higher—to see and experience the exalted realm of the Father.
Matt. 10:34, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
To explain how the rider took peace from the earth let us read from the revelation of Donna Mitchell:
“Mankind, in all his carnality, was in peace as long as the law was written in stone because it had no effect on him. Offerings of animals were made for sins committed but there was no change in the heart of mankind.
“When the SAVIOR came and offered his life, he brought a new covenant. This covenant was demonstrated in that the law was written into the hearts (minds) of men through the Holy Spirit. This law is the Word of Yahweh, which is the great Sword. When this happened, peace was taken from the earth (carnal man) and power was given to kill (destroy) the fleshly nature. People began to experience guilt for their actions. They would no longer live feeling justified in every action they took. Peace was truly taken away.” (See Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 8:10, and Hebrews 10:1-16.)
The New Student Bible in the KJV published by the Zondervan Company writes the following commentary on Jeremiah 31:33.
“The book of Hebrews quotes this passage explaining why Christians no longer live by the Old Testament regulations. The written law is useful, and is God-given. But as the history of Israel proved, it didn’t have the power to transform people’s inner attitudes. Something more was needed. God would have to change his people from the inside out, putting his law into their hearts through his Holy Spirit.”
The work of the Sword can be summed up best by Romans 8:2-6:
“For the law of the Spirit of life in the Anointed SAVIOR has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, Yahweh sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Isn’t it ironic that peace was taken from the earth and then a new peace was given back by the Holy Spirit?”
John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
At first glance the Red Horse and its rider appear to be set on destroying human beings, but a closer look will reveal a different story. Anytime a new truth is revealed, unbelievers set out to prove it wrong and the war begins. But truth will stand no matter who is against it.
When truth was manifested in the earth, guilt and condemnation flooded the hearts of mankind. Before the SAVIOR came on the scene, mankind did not comprehend the depth of sin. They knew the law, but they did not understand the spirit of the law. The SAVIOR was a living example of Love. Love exposed the depths of hate and brought shame to the hater.
The Word of Truth created war, which is symbolized by the Sword. The Word caused havoc in the worshippers of Yahweh because it exposed their fleshly nature, it brought judgment upon them and it killed the carnal man of sin. The Truth manifested in the believers made their unbelieving family members rise up and fight against them. Truth brought division and took away peace, but it was vital for the believers to stand strong in the truth. Those who accepted the SAVIOR as their redeemer created division in the churches and in their families. Everywhere the Sword of the Word went, the believers had to make a choice to continue in the Levitical order or to stand in righteousness for the truth that was being revealed to them in that day.
According to Hebrews 4:11-12, the believers were told that they must make a great effort to enter into Yahweh’s rest or they would fall into the same example of unbelief as the unbelievers. The followers of the Redeemer had to forsake their family traditions and pick up their crosses and follow Truth where ever it took them.
When the second seal was opened, it was appropriate for the young Bullock to be the next in line to say “Come.” By the life of the SAVIOR, represented by the Red Horse, mankind was redeemed. The young Bullock came as the living Word, the great Sword of Yahweh.
1st the SAVIOR came as the White Horse with the power to conquer unrighteousness; he was the promised SAVIOR establishing victory.
2nd the SAVIOR came as the Red Horse with grace and forgiveness, pouring his life’s blood out upon the earth to redeem his Body.
The Lamb opens the third seal:
6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third Living Creature say, Come
and see. And I beheld, and lo a Black Horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four Living Creatures say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see you hurt not the oil and the wine.
The Man – the third Living Creature, said, “Come.”
This Man was the SAVIOR as he walked upon the earth as a living manifestation of his Father. Being the Word made manifest in flesh, he was also the voice of his Father.
The Black Horse represents the SAVIOR coming in the image of man (one who is born in sin)—the Son of Man, but he, also, came in the character and authority of his Father. His body of flesh is symbolized by the Black Horse even though he is the Spirit of Life.
Matt. 16:27-28, The Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his [messengers]
angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
John 3:13, No man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
It was quite appropriate for the Man to be the one to say “Come” when the Black Horse was seen because the first impression man had of the SAVIOR was him as man.
The One carrying the pair of balances in his hand symbolizes the SAVIOR as he brought justice to the Word of Yahweh.
2 Cor. 5:21, He has made him [the SAVIOR] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of Yahweh in him.
Rom. 8:3-4, …Yahweh sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
As a man, the SAVIOR looked like all other humans, but he was not. His outward appearance was the same, but his thoughts were not carnal nor his actions unrighteous.
The pair of balances symbolized the SAVIOR coming to rightly divide the Word of Truth. The SAVIOR was a visible expression of the Word of Yahweh. He gave a just weight and balance of Yahweh’s love and Word to humanity. The SAVIOR was a walking dictionary of who Yahweh was. His life revealed the definition of Love.
The SAVIOR’s nature was one with his Father’s or he could not have expressed him. The Father and Son were one in Spirit, which is the only way the Son could have came in his Father’s name—his authority and character. Anything less than 100% of his Father’s character would not have been a representation of his Father. The Son of Man came according to the pattern without one flaw.
The SAVIOR didn’t just come to bring the Word of Truth to man, man already had been given the Word through the patriarchs, laws and ordinances, he came to give Life to the Word by being a living expression of it. When the Spirit and Word were weighed, the SAVIOR was not found wanting; the scales balanced.
The voice said, “A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny” – A penny was a day’s wage (Matt. 20:2). This voice is referring to the time of the crucifixion of the last sacrificial Lamb. Passover came during the time of the barley harvest, and Feast of Firstfruits came during the time of the wheat harvest. Both of these feasts are connected to the SAVIOR. He was crucified during the barley harvest (Passover) and was in the grave three days, which is symbolized by the three measures of barley. The SAVIOR returned on the day of Pentecost during the wheat harvest (Feast of Firstfruits), which is symbolized by the one measure of wheat. He was their Passover and their Firstfruits (1 Cor. 5:7 & 1 Cor. 15:23).
The wheat and the barley were weighed on the balances, which symbolize the SAVIOR’s Life in us and his sacrifice for us.
1 Cor. 6:19-20, Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of Yahweh, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify Yahweh in your body, and in your spirit, which are Yahweh’s.
The voice that proclaimed the measure and value of the wheat and barley was in the midst of the four Living Creatures. These Living Creatures symbolize the SAVIOR in his different manifestations. The wheat and the barley symbolize the work he did for mankind. The pennies symbolize the price it cost to purchase salvation for all mankind.
Bread was made from wheat and barley, but here we see the SAVIOR was the true bread from heaven:
John 6:32-35, 50-51, The Savior said unto the Jews, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of Yahweh is he which comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And the SAVIOR said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
To understand the last part of verse 6, saying, “see you hurt not the oil and the wine”, we must first understand what the oil and the wine represented. Holy anointing oil was used to declare people, furniture, vessels, and buildings holy—set apart for Yahweh. Priests were anointed before they took office, Yahweh’s kings were anointed before they took the throne, and all objects such as furniture, vessels, or buildings were anointed after they were built if they were for the service of Yahweh (Ex. 30:22-33). The oil symbolized the Anointing, the SAVIOR was Yahweh’s Anointed (Luke 4:18).
The wine symbolized the SAVIOR’s life, which was given to all mankind. It represents the new covenant that was instituted at the return of our Lord and SAVIOR on the day of Pentecost when Yahweh’s Kingdom of Righteousness was set up in earth—this Kingdom became their nature (1 Cor. 3:16).
Matt. 26:26-29, As they were eating, the SAVIOR took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new covenant (testament), which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. (Also see John 6:53-58.)
The oil represents Yahweh’s anointing, his power and ability to declare the believers holy and to son place them in his kingdom. The SAVIOR was that Anointing and he was rejected. He was the manifestation of the Anointed Word of Yahweh whom they crucified. But the unbelievers could not prevent this Anointing from being poured out upon the believers. As the unbelievers crucified the body of our SAVIOR, his life, his blood, poured out upon the ground as symbol of the Anointing being poured out upon earthen vessels. The cry to hurt not the oil (the anointing) and the wine (his life) was prophetic of the SAVIOR’s death, which ended the natural Levitical order as he became one with the believers in his Father’s kingdom.
1st the SAVIOR came as the White Horse with the power to conquer unrighteousness; he was the promised SAVIOR establishing victory.
2nd the SAVIOR came as the Red Horse with grace and forgiveness, pouring his life’s blood out upon the earth to redeem the Church.
3rd the SAVIOR came as the Black Horse to bring justice to the Word of Yahweh; he was the Anointed Word (oil) of Yahweh manifesting the new covenant (wine) to humanity.
The Lamb opens the fourth seal:
6:7 And when the Lamb had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth Living Creature [eagle] saying, Come
The Eagle, the fourth Living Creature, said, “Come (be joined to this).”
The eagle symbolizes the Holy Spirit moving freely in his many membered Body, his Body of anointed believers.
8 And I looked, and behold a [Green]
pale Horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell [the unseen state] followed with him. And power was given unto him (them) (Death) over the fourth part of the earth (carnal man), to kill (carnality) with sword (the Word of Truth), and with hunger (by withdrawing His Spirit), and with death (dying out to sin), and with the beasts (lower natures) of the earth (natural man).
In the above scripture, the word “them” was translated into several different English words in the KJV: them, her, it, itself, one, the other, him, things, together, they, those, etc. In verse 8, I show where “them” should have been translated “him”.
The Green (pale) Horse represents life, truth—green pastures for the Church. The word “pale” is the Greek word “chloros,” meaning, greenish, verdant, lush green growth, green with vegetation or foliage.
Ps. 23:1-3, Yahweh is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
The Green Horse is different than the other horses; his rider is not carrying anything in his hand and “Hell” is following him. In the Old Testament, hell is the place of the departed souls. In this verse (8), “hell”, also, means the place of the departed souls, of both the righteous and unrighteous.
The SAVIOR, represented as the Green Horse, is the Anointed message of righteousness given to those who where hungry for truth. The people were dying for lack of knowledge. He took on a body of flesh that they might be made righteous (2 Cor. 5:21). By the death of the SAVIOR, the way was made to draw all men unto the Father through his Holy Spirit in his anointed Body of believers (John 12:32).
The message of Life went out and death followed—the death of the old man of sin. Like Paul said, in Romans 7:9, “I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.”
It may seem strange that in John’s vision, Life was going forth with death as its rider and with hell following, but this happens all the time with Yahweh’s people. When the word of truth is given, as a fire out of the mouth of Yahweh, it kills the beastly nature of those who receive it—they are purified by it.
When the Kingdom of Righteousness was set up on the earth, it was set up in temples of flesh and blood.
1 Cor. 3:13-16, Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Don’t you know that you are the temple of Yahweh and that Yahweh dwells in you?
Rom. 8:9-10, You are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of Yahweh dwell in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of the Anointed, he is none of his. And if the Anointed be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
When a person is converted, he or she does not have instant maturity, the believer must develop into full maturity just as humans develop from infants to adulthood.
1 Pet. 2:1-2, Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. (Also see 1 Cor. 3:1-2.)
Eph. 4:11-13, The SAVIOR gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Anointed Body: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of Yahweh, unto a perfect man….
In the process of growing, the believers see in part and understand in part, which is why Truth (Life) is often ministered with a carnal interpretation that causes much confusion. But when the Holy Spirit quickens the Word, it brings a new man out of death.
Rom. 8:22-25, For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the son placing (adoption to wit), the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
The SAVIOR said he was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He also is the Comforter, the Guide, and the Teacher. He makes his abode in willing vessels that are in need of spiritual maturity. They need a Savior to show them the way, to reveal truth to them so they may have Life and have it more abundantly. (See John 10:10)
John 16:13, When he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. (See also John 14: 26; John 15:26.)
- 1st The SAVIOR came as the White Horse with the power to conquer unrighteousness; he is the promised SAVIOR establishing victory
- 2nd The SAVIOR came as the Red Horse with grace and forgiveness, pouring his life’s blood out upon the earth to redeem the Church.
- 3rd The SAVIOR came as the Black Horse bringing salvation; reigning until death is destroyed.
- 4th The SAVIOR came as the Green Horse, bringing life by way of the Guide, Comforter, and Teacher to bring the Church into full maturity.
In the early Church, just as it is today, when a person made a commitment to follow Yahweh, he joined the believers as a babe in Christ—as a babe in the Anointed. He had to learn about the Kingdom of Yahweh (the new government) before he could become a mature son. Once a new convert accepted the Kingdom of Righteousness, there was a lot of inward work to be done. Until Truth is fully revealed (brought to light), there is confusion and death in the temples of Yahweh.
Eph. 4:22-24, That you put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after Yahweh is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The SAVIOR, in each of his presentations, created a war in the minds of those who desired the Spirit of Righteousness, not a war of man against man but a war against the carnal mind; a mind full of imaginations against the Holy Spirit of Truth. For this cause the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, came to reveal Truth.
2 Cor. 10:4-6, (The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through Yahweh to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing (barrier) that exalts itself against the knowledge of Yahweh, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of the Anointed; and having in a readiness to revenge (coming against) all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Notice, to come against all disobedience requires obedience. This happens in an individual’s life whether male or female. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness, and against spiritual wickedness in the heavens (Eph. 6:12).
The rider’s power was to:
kill with the Sword,
Eph. 6:17, And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Yahweh.
Heb. 4:12, For the word of Yahweh is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
kill with hunger,
Luke 15:11-24 – The prodigal son hungered and was saved through his hunger.
Amos 8:11-12, Behold, the days come, says the Lord Yahweh, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of Yahweh: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of Yahweh, and shall not find it.
kill with death,
Rom. 7:5-13, When we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Yahweh forbid. No (Nay), I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, “You shall not covet.” But sin (death), taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? Yahweh forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Mildred Garner explained very clearly how it is possible to kill with death. Quoted from “Holy Spirit—the Source.”
“While Yahweh’s word revealed the purity and the power of Yahweh, it successfully exposed the weakness and unrighteousness of the creature who is attempting to function without the Spirit of his Creator. The law told us what we should do and what we should be, but not being mixed with an energy creating conviction (faith, or belief, in its principle), it became an unfulfilled law, or mirror, which revealed our image comparing us with him and convicting us of our sin against the law of life, love, and righteousness. But it gave us no strength to measure up to its demands.
Aware of the transition that he is unwillingly involved in, mankind gropes in the shadows of death. But like a drowning man, he continues to resist all efforts for his rescue. Motivated by fear of that which he does not understand, he struggles against and spurns the life he needs so desperately. Bound by law and blinded by sin, he is often attracted to and victimized by religious tradition with its pomp and ceremony, which is so appealing. He vainly attempts to appease a God who is neither angry nor vindictive, but ever stands with open arms to receive and redeem his blinded creation. But as Yahweh was rejected in the garden, so is he rejected by most of the religious world today.”
While the law brought condemnation (death), the Holy Spirit brought Life. The law revealed sin and the Holy Spirit delivered from sin. Those who accepted the Holy Spirit recognized the ceremonial laws as their schoolmaster that brought them into the knowledge of life and to the understanding of the crucifixion of the old man of sin. Spiritually speaking, they were killed with death.
kill with the beast of the earth.
Gen. 4:6-7, Then Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” (NIV) The Father told Cain that his anger was like a beast when he used the word “crouching.”
Anytime the beastly nature rears its ugly head, there is a potential for one to be spiritually or physically killed by it—it becomes a stepping stone or a stumbling block. At the time of John’s vision, the Kingdom of Yahweh was new in the minds of mankind and many that joined with the believers allowed their beastly nature to control them because they lusted after unrighteousness.
They fell prey to their lower nature and, thereby, destroyed those who depended upon them for truth. Ministers that received the Holy Spirit and then gave in to their lower nature (beastly nature) caused those who looked up to them to follow them into corruption and death. Some believers that knew lust and greed where not principles of the Kingdom of Yahweh saw their leader succumb to his lower nature and they lost faith in the Kingdom message, thus being killed with (destroyed by) the beast.
The Holy Spirit of Truth came into carnal vessels to bring them into perfection. Because the Word of Truth was mixed with carnality and proclaimed through weak vessels, it often brought condemnation upon the Word. This is seen in the churches that allowed the Balaam, Jezebel, and Nicolaitan doctrines to be taught. These false doctrines caused many to stumble and to commit fornication and adultery. Whether it was spiritual or physical fornication and adultery, it still caused spiritual death.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth that reveals carnality; it exposes the beastly nature in mankind.
John 8:32, And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Hosea 4:6a, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… (See also Prov. 29:18.)
False doctrines could not produce Life in the churches in Asia. Ignorance was destroying the people, preventing them from receiving the much needed Holy Spirit of Life. As long as they accepted unrighteous living, they could not be delivered from their sinful nature. Their concepts kept them in the death realm, preventing them from receiving the Truth that would deliver them from sin.
The Lamb opens the fifth seal:
6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar (the place of sacrifice) the souls of them that were slain for the word of Yahweh, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not *distinguish (judge) and *vindicate (avenge) our kin (blood) out of (on) them that dwell on the earth?
*Distinguish – recognize differences between people or things.
*Vindicate – to free from blame, to show that somebody is justified or correct.
In verse ten, I took out the word “avenge” because in English it now means “to exact punishment for something, to retaliate on behalf of somebody.” The Kingdom of Yahweh does not consist of the principles of the flesh; therefore, the SAVIOR would not have retaliated. He uses the principles of love and mercy. He does not use the principles of an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth. The principle of Love says, “Love your enemies, and turn the other cheek.” The souls that were slain for the Word of Yahweh were given white robes, which means they lived what they preached and died for righteousness’ sake. These believers were crying out for their loved ones, not for themselves.
Isa. 55:9, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Ezek. 18:29, Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
Luke 6:27-31, I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smites you on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that takes away your cloke forbid not to take your coat also. Give to every man that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods ask them not again. And as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them likewise.
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their siblings (brethren), that should be martyred (killed) as they were, should be fulfilled.
This multitude of believers gave their lives for the Word of Yahweh by being a testimony of Truth and Love; they wanted the world to know that Yahweh loved their enemies—those who had persecuted them. The SAVIOR did no less when he cried upon the cross, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:35). Stephen also forgave his enemies while he was being stoned (Acts 7:59). I am persuaded that Stephen’s cry for the Father to forgive his enemies was fulfilled. Surely Stephen’s death was not in vain. Paul was one of those who condemned Stephen when he was stoned (Acts 22:20) and he was later converted.
If the souls under the altar were asking Yahweh to kill their enemies because they were victims of martyrdom, then their deaths would have been in vain and their testimonies on earth a pretense.
In Revelation 3:5, we read that white robes were given to those who overcame. Now we see white robes being given to those under the sacrificial altar. I am persuaded that they, as overcomers, did not live a life of pretense; they lived righteously. Therefore, they were not asking the Father to kill their enemies for their sakes, but were asking him how long it would be before their loved ones would realize that they (those under the altar) had the truth and that they did not die in vain.
The Lamb opens the sixth seal:
6:12 And I beheld when he (the Lamb) had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
In this scene, John sees what happened when the two kingdoms collided—the kingdom of the earth with the Kingdom of heaven. This is when the forces of the Kingdom of Righteousness wars against the forces of the kingdom of self.
The earthquake symbolizes the spiritual commotions caused by the change of the priesthood from the Levitical order to the Melchisedec order, from man ruling to the Holy Spirit ruling. These two orders were not compatible; they could not function on the same level. They were opposite of each other in principle; therefore, they collided with each other just as two plates of land try to move together. When one order gives way to the other, it causes a spiritual earthquake. In this case, a spiritual earthquake took place when the Holy Spirit invaded the kingdom of the natural man. The Holy Spirit was manifested in the earth; the Anointing brought the hearts and minds of the Church into the Kingdom of Righteousness and out of the kingdom of self.
Earthquake – copied from the Thundering Earth, by Moody Press:
“An earthquake occurs when the boundary between two masses of rock can no longer resist the pressure being put on it and it slides. The whole surrounding rocks are set into vibration and starts shaking. The vibration is what everybody senses and is the earthquake, but the source of that vibration was the sliding of the rock.
The earth’s surface is divided into 12 large plates. And each of these plates move relative to one another and in different ways. Some plates move side by side going past each other. Some of the plates move away from each other. There are some plates which move together and some of those plates will be pushed beneath the other one. The plates store up energy at the boundaries.
If you were in the middle of a plate, you will notice that it is moving all the time. If you are at the edge of the plate along the vault, there is no motion occurring. In between the plate it is being slowly bent building up energy like a spring. When that energy exceeds a certain point it slips and let’s go, and that is when you have an earthquake.”
The Melchisedec order existed from the beginning of time (Heb. 7:3), but the people could not see it because they did not have eyes to see the Spirit of Righteousness and Peace as their ruling force. When the SAVIOR came on the earth, he revealed the Spirit of the Word, which was the force, or power, of righteousness. The Word had been given from Adam to the second coming of Elijah, which was John the Baptist (Matt. 11:12-15), but the people could not hear the Spirit of the Word. When the SAVIOR put the Spirit of the Word in action, it created pressure (demands) in the minds of those around him.
John 1:10, The Word was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
After the Holy Spirit came, the disciples began their Spirit-filled ministry and it created a great commotion. When Peter and John healed the lame man at the temple, people had a displacement of the mind (bewildered)—a spiritual earthquake. This type of bewilderment probably happened quite often when the believers ministered and miracles followed.
Acts 3:7-10, Peter took the lame man by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising Yahweh. And all the people saw him walking and praising Yahweh: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with astonishment (wonder) and
*amazement at that which had happened unto him.
*Amazement –This word comes from a Greek word meaning “a displacement of the mind, to be bewildered,” which is a perfect example of a spiritual earthquake.
The sun became black (Rev. 6:12). In order to find out what the sun and the moon symbolized, it is necessary to establish their purpose when created.
Gen. 1:14-19, And the evening and the morning were the third day. And Elohiym said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide (distinguished between) the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And Elohiym made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And Elohiym set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and Elohiym saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
The sun was for signs, meaning a signal, as a flag, a beacon, evidence, etc. Yahweh revealed his power and communicated with his people through signs. These signs proved to the people that Yahweh was truly speaking to them and not another. Oftentimes his signs revealed his message by unusual happenings. Even though Yahweh spoke by signs, it was still him speaking; he was just speaking in sign language.
One of the first signs given was the rainbow, which was created by the sun (Gen. 9:9-16). The feast days and the Sabbaths were all established by the sun or the phases of the moon.
The SAVIOR came on the scene on the Feast of Tabernacles as the Word made flesh and as a sign from the Father. Because he was the voice of the Father, the sun also symbolized him, not his fleshly body, but the Word. He was the living expression of Yahweh’s voice.
The sun, the symbol of the Father’s voice through the SAVIOR as he walked upon the earth, was darkened as the Word was rejected and crucified. But the Word promised to return—the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them. The Holy Spirit within their hearts tore down the partition that had kept them from coming face to face with themselves and the Spirit of Righteousness. The SAVIOR was no longer the Word in a singular flesh body, he was now a quickening (Life giving) Spirit. This quickening Spirit is a greater light than the sun symbolized (1 Cor. 15:45). The carnal mind cannot see this light.
In this verse (12), the sun is not gone, it is only darkened. The Anointed Word was to be manifested in all flesh and would not come through the Levitical priesthood. The new covenant was being poured out into all flesh as spoken by the prophet Joel in Joel chapter two. The writer said the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit was the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy when he said, “This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.”
Acts 2:17-21, …I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy…. and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
1 Cor. 2:12-16, Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of Yahweh; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of Yahweh. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of Yahweh: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who has known the mind of Yahweh, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of the Anointed.
Where the sun symbolized Yahweh’s communication with the people; the moon symbolized Yahweh’s laws, his Ten Commandments, ordinances, ceremonies, feasts, and his appointments with the Israelites.
Ps. 104:19, He appointed the moon for seasons (for the feast days)….
The psalmist understood that Yahweh’s ceremonial ordinances were recognized according to the 1st, 3rd, and 7th full moon. These moons were called “mowed” in the Hebrew language—they were seasons for the Israelites.
Lev. 23:2, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts (mowed) of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts (mowed).
When the phrase “tabernacle of the congregation” was used in the Old Testament, the word “congregation” is from the Hebrew word “mowed,” which should have been translated “tabernacle of the seasons” or “tabernacle of his ordnances”. (See Exodus 28:42-53.) The tabernacle was where Yahweh met with man during the three feasts and was indicated by the full moon.
The Israelites used the moon to measure time. Three times a year all males appeared before Yahweh; each time was called a feast day and was celebrated on the full moon of the appointed month. The “full” moon symbolized the fullness of knowledge according to the light of truth given in that day.
Ex. 23:14-17, Three times you shall keep a feast unto me in the year. You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread: (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time appointed of the month Abib (1st moon); for in it you came out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) and the Feast of Harvest (on the 3rd full moon), the firstfruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field: and the Feast of Ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field. Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord Yahweh.
Deut. 16:16, Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he shall choose; in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yahweh empty.
Notice that in Exodus the Feast of Weeks is also called the Feast of Harvest, and the Feast of Tabernacles is called the Feast of Ingathering. The book of Deuteronomy refers to these same feasts as the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles.
Three times a year all Israelite males came into the temple before Yahweh. As they came before him on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened bread it answered to their nature. They gave recognition to their sinful nature and to their coming SAVIOR who was to deliver them from sin. They went seven days without partaking of leaven in hope to overcome sin. Leaven symbolized sin in the body of believers.
Each of these feasts has a spiritual significance. The Feast of Unleavened Bread came immediately after the Feast of Passover. The SAVIOR as the Passover Lamb was the fulfillment of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. He was the one that cleansed from sin. As the last Lamb to be slain for the sins of the people, he instructed his followers to come together in communion. They were to drink wine, which symbolized his life, and eat from a loaf of bread, which symbolized his body. The Feast of Unleavened bread answered to their lower nature.
1 Cor. 5:7-8, Purge out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
When the males came before Yahweh on the Feast of Harvest, also called Feast of Weeks, it answered to their labors. They recognized their inability to produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit and gave recognition to the coming SAVIOR who was to plant his seed in them. This feast was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost (meaning fifty); this was when the Holy Spirit was given to the 120 in the upper room, making it possible for the believers to produce the fruit of righteousness. We now fulfill the Feast of Harvest as we allow the Holy Spirit within us to teach, guide, and comfort us. The Feast of Harvest answered to their labors.
Acts 2:1-4, When the day of Pentecost (50th day) was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
John 14:16-17, I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. (Also see John 16:13; John 14:26.)
When the males came before Yahweh on the Feast of Tabernacles, it answered to their relationship with Yahweh. They gave recognition to the coming SAVIOR that would bring them into the image of their Father.
John 6:48-57, I am that bread of life (the manna was the shadow). Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread (the Anointed Word), he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh (his substance), which I will give for the life of the world…. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except you eat the flesh (his substance, which was the Anointed Word) of the Son of man, and drink his blood (his characteristics, his principles which was after the Father), you have no life in you. Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is the true meat (indeed), and my blood is the true drink (indeed). He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him. As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.
Rom. 5:10, When we were enemies, we were reconciled to Yahweh by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
When the phrase “tabernacle of the congregation” was used in the Old Testament, the word “congregation,” from the Hebrew word “mowed,” should have been translated “tabernacle of the seasons” or “tabernacle of his ordnances”. (See Exodus 28:42-53.) The tabernacle was where Yahweh met with man during the three feasts.
The Feast of Ingatherings, or Tabernacles, was celebrated by the Israelites dwelling in booths for seven days. Our SAVIOR was born on the Feast of Tabernacles; this was the first time Yahweh tabernacled man. We will truly celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles when we come into full maturity—the fullness of Yahweh in us. The fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles answers to our relationship with the Father.
Rom 8:10-11, If Christ (the Anointing) be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up the SAVIOR from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also make alive (quicken) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. (Notice there are two experiences.)
As the moon became as blood, John saw it take on life. In the Old Testament, blood was used to designate life: the life in animals, mankind, and fruit. The blood of man is the life of man. The Levitical ceremonies were types and shadows of Yahweh as he dealt with unconverted man. When the Holy Spirit came, it connected the shadow to its reality, that is, the moon became as blood—the symbols became manifestations of Life through the Holy Spirit within them. The SAVIOR shed his blood for them (and us) that they might inherit his substance that is after his Father; he laid down that which was after his mother and became a quickening (life giving) Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45). It was his Life within them that changed them so drastically that they were willing to die for the Gospel’s sake. The moon, as the symbol of the Levitical ceremonies, was replaced by the reality.
The SAVIOR’s blood, his Life, his characteristics, his seed; his substance in us sets us free from sin and death and brings us into our Father’s image.
1 Cor. 15:54, So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Through the experiences of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Tabernacles, the Ten Commandment were written on the hearts of the believers and were no longer on tables of stone; they became their nature—their spirit, not just an act of obedience to a Higher Power. Yahweh’s Melchisedec order was written not only in the minds of those in the upper room, but it became a part of their spiritual genetics, so to speak. The moon turning to blood signified that the believers could now be a true expression of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, the dwelling place of the Most High. Yahweh’s Word was as the scripture said, “Written upon the hearts.”
Yahweh communicated with the believers; he guided, comforted and taught them by his Holy Spirit. He no longer needed a lifeless substance to reveal his plan and power. All those who received the Holy Spirit in the upper room and others after them began to commune with the Creator face to face no matter where they were. They were commanded to think differently and to be submerged into the Spirit of the Word as Yahweh’s tabernacles, so they would come into full maturity, into the image of their Father.
Acts 2:38-39, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yasha Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 3:18-21, Those things, which Yahweh before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he has so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted (turn around), that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send the Anointed SAVIOR, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all (things), which Yahweh has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the ages (world began).
Each of the seven churches that Yahweh reprimanded were told to repent. In other words, go a different direction and consider their actions.
One sign that was given to those who were converted was tongues; it was a manifestation of the power of their SAVIOR to control the most unruly part about them as he used it to intercede for them. We are still given signs today when we are not sure of our SAVIOR’s voice.
1 Cor. 14:21-22, In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, said the Lord. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serves not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Stars symbolize messengers, the light bearers of the earth. In the Old Testament, Yahweh used the prophets, priests, kings, and judges to speak to his people. They were the mediators between Yahweh and man. They were those who shined the light of Truth in the darkness. The Light shined through them, but their nature was not changed by the Light.
· Israelites, worshippers of Yahweh, were stars of heaven:
Exod. 19:5-6, Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel. See also, Deut. 1:8-11; Num. 24:16-17.
· Prophets were stars of heaven:
Deut. 18:15, Yahweh your God will raise up unto you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brethren, like unto me; unto him you shall hearken.
· Priests were stars of heaven:
Heb. 5:1, For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to Yahweh, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
· Judges were stars of heaven (Moses set up judges over the people):
Ex. 18:13, 20-22 …Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening…. And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: and let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto you, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with you.
· John was a burning light, which is a star:
John 5:33-36, You sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that you might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me.
· The stars fell from heaven (Rev. 6:13).
The stars that fell from heaven were the prophets, priests, judges, kings, and the Israelites who did not accept the SAVIOR as the Son of Yahweh. These stars were the lights in a dark world. Now we see that they have fallen from their lofty positions and are no longer the light bearers. The stars that did not fall were the ones that received the Holy Spirit of promise and became the Light bearers in Yahweh’s Kingdom. Many in the Old Testament were stars, but when they refused to accept the new order, they failed to be light bearers. The glorious Light of the administration of the Holy Spirit outshined the light of the Levitical order.
2 Cor. 3:7-16, But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: how shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelled. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: but their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old covenant (testament); which vail is done away in the Anointed. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
Nevertheless when it (the heart) shall turn (be converted) to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. (Notice that which has to turn, or rather be converted, is the heart—their thoughts and feelings. Israel knew the letter of the law, but their nature—their genetic makeup—had to be one with the Father as well. The vail hid the truth.)
In Genesis 1:3, we read that there was light above the firmament that was not the sun, moon, or stars. This light is Yahweh, which is Life.
John 1:1-4, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Yahweh, and the Word was Yahweh. The same was in the beginning with Yahweh. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
2 Cor 4:3-7, If our gospel be veiled (hid), it is veiled (hid) to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of Yahweh, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but the Anointed SAVIOR, the Lord; and ourselves your servants for the SAVIOR’s sake. For Yahweh, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh in the face of the Anointed SAVIOR. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of Yahweh, and not of us.
6:14 And the heaven rent apart (departed) as a scroll coiled (when it is rolled together); and every mountain and island were stirred (moved) out of their places.
According to Acts 7:49 and Isaiah 66:1, heaven is Yahweh’s throne, it is his dwelling place:
Isa. 66:1 Thus saith Yahweh, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that you build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
Heaven renting apart like a scroll coiled was Yahweh putting into action his plan for the future as he closed up the past. His dwelling place had changed. The signs and ordnances were now experiences within his temples: they were manifestations of him in his body of believers. The place of Yahweh’s rest was in the minds and hearts of mankind where the Father communicates face to face with man. This change caused a great commotion, a great earthquake, in the hearts of the people.
Eph. 2:15-22, Having abolished in his (the SAVIOR’s) flesh the hostility (enmity), even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace (no hostility); And that he might reconcile both unto Yahweh in one body by the cross, having slain the hostility (enmity) thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both (Jews & Gentles, other nations) have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of Yahweh; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the Anointed SAVIOR himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto an holy temple in Yahweh: In whom you also are built together for an habitation of Yahweh through the Spirit.
1 Cor. 3:16, Do you not know that you are the temple of Yahweh, and that the Spirit of Yahweh dwells in you?
Rom. 14:17, The kingdom of Yahweh is … righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
When the SAVIOR died on the cross, the Levitical order of symbols came to an end. The veil in the temple renting in two (Luke 23:44-46; Matt. 27:50-53) symbolized the Holy Spirit taking away the veil that separated man from Yahweh, which was, and is, the veil of flesh. When the Holy Spirit came, a new and living way was made into the Kingdom of Heaven. The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts and minds of mankind allowing him to experience the reality of the shadow. The way was made for both the Jews and gentiles to come before the throne of Yahweh without a man-priest as a mediator.
Heb. 10:19-20, Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of the SAVIOR, by a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.
2 Cor. 6:16, …I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Gal. 3:27-28, As many of you as have been baptized into the Anointing have put on the Anointing. There is neither Jew nor gentile (Greek), there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in the Anointed SAVIOR.
Notice these similarities at the time of Revelation 6:12-13 and our SAVIOR’s death:
- heaven rent apart as a scroll coiled – the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom
- the sun became black as sackcloth of hair – there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth house
- a great earthquake – the earth did quake and the rocks rent
- The veil being rent in the temple caused the temple to be one room instead of two, which ended the Levitical order. Heaven being rent apart in John’s vision also symbolized the mind of mankind coming out of the Levitical order of symbols and putting on the mind of Christ (the Anointing). According to Hebrews chapter eight, the new covenant that Jeremiah spoke about was fulfilled by the Anointing—the SAVIOR in us.
Jer. 31:31-34, Behold, the days come, said Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, Yahweh said: “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, said Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
The new covenant was set in place by the death of the SAVIOR. Fifty days after Passover, on Pentecost, a new High Priest came in the order of the Melchisedec Priesthood. This High Priest came as the Holy Spirit to guide, comfort, and teach and to bring mankind into the Kingdom of Righteousness. Yahweh gave the people forty years to abandon the old order. During these forty years, according to the book of Josephus and Matthew twenty-four, there were many signs given to the Hebrews to show them that the old order had come to an end and the new order was established. The SAVIOR told his disciples what to look for when the end of the Levitical age was fully completed.
Matt. 24:29-31, Immediately after the great pressure (tribulation) of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his messengers (angels) with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
This great earthquake happened at the same time the sun darkened and the moon become as blood, and when the stars fell. At this time the rulers (the great men), the wealthy, the slaves and the free men, hid in dens and caves calling for the mountains and rocks to fall on them to hide them from the face of Yahweh and from what was happening at that time.
The measure of truth known to the Israelites was proved inferior—the Ten Commandments in their hearts judged them as sinful. Those whom they were following as the lights of Truth became inadequate compared to the new and better order. Many became very distraught by the change.
What were these mountains and rocks that the people wanted to hide in? Notice that they wanted to be hid, not killed. Therefore, these mountains and rocks were not physical; they were symbolic of the religious systems that had great influence on the people. The islands symbolized isolated bodies of religious systems that were other nations. When the Levitical order came to an end, there was a great spiritual shaking going on in the religious world. People clung to their doctrines, trying to find security, but there was none.
Ezek. 6:1-3, And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying, Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, And say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh; Thus saith the Lord Yahweh to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places. (See also Eze. 36:1-2.)
Isa. 65:9, And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. (See also Isa. 52:5-8, Zech. 4:6-7.)
The Islands represent other nations:
Isa. 49:1-3, Listen, O islands (isles), unto me; and hearken, you people, from far; Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name. And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he hid me; and said unto me, you are my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Isa. 40:29-41:1; Yahweh gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon Yahweh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. (Yahweh called the nations islands. He told the people if they would wait upon him, he would give them strength.)
6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face that dwells (of him that sits) on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
The religious order changed and the people’s sins were no longer covered by the sacrifice of animals. When the Holy Spirit exposed their innermost thoughts, they cried for the religious systems to justify them in their sinful condition. But the day of revealing had come, the day of the wrath of the Lamb—the Holy Spirit of Truth came and exposed their sinful hearts.
II Th. 2:1-4, Now we beseech you, brethren, by the presence (coming) of our Lord the Anointed SAVIOR, and by our gathering together unto him, That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as the (that) day of Anointing (Christ) is now (at hand). Let no man deceive you by any means: for (that day shall not come), except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of Yahweh, showing himself that he is God. (See also Heb. 4:12-14.)
The glory of the old order was darkened by the glorious light of Life and truth—the law of the Levitical order could no longer save them (Heb. 10:1-10). Natural Israel’s prophets lost their positions as the light bearers of Yahweh. The Holy Spirit took his position as the High Priest and King in the temples of Yahweh and began his work of dethroning the son of perdition.
The Holy Spirit brought judgment upon sin. Yahweh’s prophets who refused to accept the SAVIOR, the Anointed Word and light of the world, fell from their positions. There was a great commotion, a spiritual earthquake, when the Holy Spirit of Truth manifested himself through the believers.
John 16:7-11, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
The SAVIOR came to bring judgment upon sin. His judgment against sin was counted as wrath. Natural man did not, and still does not understand how correction and judgment can be administered without the strong desire for retribution accompanied with strong anger. The SAVIOR could not manifest something he did not possess. The SAVIOR was never against man, he came against unrighteousness. He came to save that which was lost and to set the captive free.
Isa. 61:1-4, The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is upon me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of Yahweh, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Notice that when the SAVIOR quoted the passage above that the “day of vengeance” was the acceptable year of Yahweh. This day of vengeance was him preaching good news; it was a day of binding up the brokenhearted; it was a day of setting the captives free; it was a day of opening the prison doors (those held captive to deception). The day of vengeance was a day of exposing the lies that held the people captive. The SAVIOR proclaimed that he was the fulfillment of that acceptable year, the day of vengeance against sickness, captivity, and spiritual blindness. He was the SAVIOR that came to set men free from sin.
Luke 4:17-21, There was delivered unto the SAVIOR the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
The SAVIOR’s mission was to save the world (John 12:37), not to condemn it (John 3:17).
Isa. 35:3-10, Strengthen you the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: and the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
The Lamb was the Anointed SAVIOR. He used the principles of righteousness and there was no violence in him. He did not manifest any of the works of the flesh such as wrath. If he had, there would have been sin in him; therefore, contradicting the scriptures declaring he had no sin.
2 Cor. 5:21-6:1, He has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of Yahweh in him.
1 John 3:6, You know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. (Also see 1 Pet. 2:20-24)
Isa. 53:7-9, He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
The Lamb’s wrath was his dislike for corruption, but those who refused to accept his principles of righteousness were affected by his judgment against sin.
6:17 For the great day of his (the Lamb’s) wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
When the SAVIOR came in the acceptable day of Yahweh, it was that great day of wrath; the day he came against unrighteousness. The judgment upon sin caused those who refused to accept him as their SAVIOR to have hardship and destruction because they rejected Yahweh’s principles which was their protection and saving power.
Isa. 28:14-19, Wherefore hear the word of Yahweh, you scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: therefore thus saith the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it. From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
