When God (Yahweh) tells us to be still, He is dealing with our anxious spirit, our fretting spirit, which is a negative distraction. God is always working out spiritual matters that have a huge effect on the physical outcome. Those who work as adversaries of righteousness feel justified and right and they do not recognize the negative effect they have on their lives and others. We cannot change one’s heart by the works of the flesh, but the fruit of the Holy Spirit is the most powerful positive life-force that changes people while it creates peace.

As parents, we know what we have taught our children and we know more about their potential than others do, therefore, we can rightly expect more. But we need to be cautious in our efforts to help those with whom we don’t know. Our best witness is to “live” righteous, “love” unconditionally, and “trust” in the Holy Spirit to be able to do His job of saving sinners.

It’s not the journey that we find ourselves on, it is how we respond to the journey that is most important. It’s not how much control we have over others as it is how well we control ourselves as leaders and adults. We should demand more from ourselves than from others if we are truly Christian leaders. It is better for us to be disappointed in our own lack than in others.
Visible Signs 7/16/19
The visible signs that are never withheld from us when we seek to know God and to yield to His word, are His principles. To truly know Him is to Love Him, or you could say, “If you really know Him, you will love Him.” We were created to thrive on that which He is.
Time Well Spent 7/7/19
The Holy Spirit definitely spoke to me in more unusual ways in the early part of my life. Often times it was when I laid down at night, when I was pondering on the events of the day and the ways I might have done something differently. I communicated with the Lord about my fears, discouragements, and lacks. For this reason, I encourage those who feel desperate for strength and wisdom to lay down “without” outside entertainment. The time you spend pondering on your spiritual goals with your Father will be well spent. If you are feeling victorious, make your music and song in your mind and sing unto the Lord; fellowship with Him and you will hear his voice ever so softly. See Psa. 1:2; 63:5-7; and 119:148.
I was just pondering the statement, “Temptation is necessary to settle and confirm us in the spiritual life.” But if we read James 1:14-15, he says that every person is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. He then adds, “Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.”
James (1:2-4) said, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith [what you hold true and faithful] is tested [by those around you], your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
Troubles are part of everyone’s life, they are not sent by God they are cause and effect. There is a difference in being tempted by the lust of your own flesh and being tested by those around you so they might see righteousness in action. Troubles come through ignorance, evil imaginations, and through rebellion. We must remember, we sow that which we are and we reap what we sow.
Ponder the Path
A wise saying: “Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established” Proverbs 4:26. This is the same as saying, “Think about what you are getting ready to do. Do you really want to reap the consequences?” It is a big responsibility on our part to ponder the possible outcome of our actions. If it is good, that is, if it is of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, then it demands consideration of others, determination, faith, and endurance. It produces joy and peace for not only ourselves but for those around us. But if our path is functioning in the works of the flesh, it demands that self be honored above all others while it repels the fruit of the Holy Spirit. On this path, the law of flesh guarantees us that we’re not going to have inner peace and lasting happiness. Either way we go we will face challenges and demands; it’s the outcome that we are to be thoughtful of.
